UNIQUE ROLLCAGE PROTECTION CELL
The 5EXi rollcage consists of a chassis-mounted front tube running around the windscreen frame, a chassis-mounted rear roll-over bar and, linking the two, unique curved over-head bars. Together it forms an all-enveloping safety cell to provide roll-over protection, a secure ‘steadying’ point when getting in and out, and a frame for the hood. |

PRODUCTION CAR INSTRUMENTS AND CONTROLS
The 5EXi is designed to accept all the instruments and controls from the Rover 200/400 donor car. This makes the build easier and more cost-effective - and creates a production car-standard cockpit seldom seen in kitcars. Just check out the instrument and switch panels and see how well they are integrated into the car’s design. And to top things off, even the non-slip oddment tray insert from the top of the Rover’s dashboard finds a home in a recess on the 5EXi dash - it’s that sort of attention to detail that marks great design. |

UNIQUE SCALLOPED SEAT DESIGN
The 5EXi features specially designed seats with a cutaway seat squab to provide a stepping point for getting in and out, without compromising on comfort or support. Combined with the design of the curved roll cage tubing, it means the 5EXi offers superb access. |

HINGED, ONE-PIECE FRONT AND REAR PANELS
Unlike some mid-engined cars, access to the 5EXi's engine/gearbox assembly is made easy by the rear-hinged rear body section - and it can be completely removed for total, all-round access. Similarly, the front-end mechanical components can be accessed via the hinged, one-piece front section - again removable for bigger jobs, and particularly useful for modifications and repairs in the pits at motorsport events and track days. CLEAN AND ORIGINAL MODERN STYLING
In an age when so many sportscars are replicas of ‘classics’, or derivatives of the Lotus 7-inspired clubman sportscar, the 5EXi again breaks new ground with flowing, perfectly proportioned lines and beautiful detailing like the Peugeot headlamps, the Lotus Elise windscreen and the retro, Jaguar-inspired ‘headrest’ cowls. The 5EXi’s aggressive stance is emphasised by the sleek, sexy front-end and the purposeful, cropped rear-end. Just like the 5EXi’s mechanical components, the styling works. Perfectly. |

STRONG, LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION
At the heart of the 5EXi is a lightweight spaceframe chassis, fully triangulated for strength, and panelled in aluminium or Zintec steel. The body panels are coloured gel coat (available at no extra cost, in four colour options - black, red, yellow and dark grey) and require no preparation or spraying, keeping down the cost of the build. |

SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE HOOD DESIGN
The 5EXi hood is secured with a single, no-lift strip across the top of the screen and simple press-stud fasteners across the rear of the cockpit. Support comes from the roll cage and two glassfibre rods that slip into pockets running along the side of the hood. Finally, to ensure a drum-tight hood, it features an air tensioning system, another unique 5EXi feature. This is a simple but ingenious inflatable strip featuring a valve designed to fit a small hand pump. For easy access, even when the hood is fitted, the sidescreen/door sections are zipped diagonally across the roof. |
