Welcome to the Marlin Sports Car Club

With the evolution of Marlin Sports Cars into track and performance cars the next logical step was to cater for owners who wished to enjoy their cars potential to the full. The Marlin Sports Car Club was formed in 2005 to do exactly that on professionally organised track days with full safety facilities away from public roads and the dreaded speed cameras.

As club membership has grown so has the list of Track Days on offer. An example of this was the first dedicated Marlin Track Day at Llandow circuit in 2006 where the entire circuit was hired for the exclusive use of Marlin customers. In addition to this a number of members enjoyed Track Days at airfields and other famous motor racing circuits such as Castle Combe and Pembury.

The Track Days organised by the club are supported by Marlin Sports Cars and the Marlin Sports Car Club, often with advice and training to cater for all levels of driver from novice to experienced. In addition, you will be able to talk about your experiences with fellow Marlin owners and share your on-track experiences. The dedicated Marlin Track Day at Llandow is not only a superb Track Day but also a great social event with a BBQ during the lunchtime break. In November each year we also have the annual Charity Karting Endurance Challenge where 16 teams race in an endurance race “Le Mans” style to cover the most laps in 2 ½ hours of close racing. This event normally raises around £1000 for a chosen charity, so it is all in a good cause.

For those who have not driven on track before we would recommend starting on an airfield day. The reason for this is that it is much easier to build up your speed gradually as you find the limitations of your driving abilities. If you do get it wrong there is plenty of run off area with nothing to hit but a cone. This is much more comfortable and considerably less expensive than ending up in the barriers at a circuit. With suitable professional instruction your confidence and ability will improve so that you can then experience the thrill of driving on a motor racing circuit when the time is right.

By mid February all of the Track Day Events for 2007 will be on the next page of this website. Membership of the MSCC commences on 1st March and annual membership is only £10. If you have any questions about the MSCC or the Track Day Events please email me at kenrobson@btinternet.com

I look forward to you joining the club and meeting you at a Track Day soon.
