| MARLIN AT DONNINGTON | ||||
As usual Marlin put on a very good show at Donnington this year and showing for the first time completely finished in all its glory was the latest stunning midnight blue 5EXi - R. The car was a complete head turner and really stole the show. With the new doors and Honda Civic type 'R' engine nicely installed, it proved to be an extremely popular option, as Marlin took quite a few orders over the weekend, with other people promising to come down to the factory later this year. Also on the stand was Janette & Andrew Curtis's very dirty BMW E30 Sportster. Having just got back from a wonderful rally in the car (Monte-Carlo 2005 sportscar challenge with the Guild of Motor Endurance), they felt they wanted to show people just exactly what you could get up to in a Marlin Sportster. We never doubted it. Dylan Popovic drove his 5EXi up from London to take part in the track day experience, but due to unforeseen circumstances (a bolt shearing) sadly only went 800 yards. Never mind the car has now been sorted and he is off to Pembrooke race track, in Wales, with Marlin in two weeks time to have some fun. Dylan and his co-pilot Adis are planning on racing next year using one of the new Marlin 2006 factory race packages, so both will be trying to get lots of practise in while they can. On another note, as Terry & Mark were already in Derby it made complete sense for Terry to drag Mark off to Alton Towers for the day (not quite the same as driving one of their cars at high speed around the Nurburgring but they reckon the Oblivion was pretty good) and it finished the week-end off very nicely. |
