New 5EXi Privateer Team for 2007

As of 2007, there will be a new race team on the grid. Nick Milnes and I launched JNRacing in early September after meeting at Llandow for the Marlin track day back in July. A few days after the event we requested pricing on a 5EXi race car from Marlin, and the rest slotted in to place from there. We met up again at Lydden Hill to discuss the future of the team and to see how the 5EXi’s performed in their class. We were happy with the prices, happy with the car itself, and confident we could produce a vehicle that could challenge the factory team.

Why Marlin?
Many of you out there may think ‘why did we choose Marlin’s 5EXi to race? Why not go for something like a Locost or a Westfield and race in their own separate league’. Marlin has a very competitive package and also welcomes new ideas to help with development on the race and road versions. The build quality of the finished product is fantastic and at a very competitive price. Marlin provides excellent factory support from day one. You get a lot more than just a car with Marlin, the support and advice during the build phase, and once the car is up and running is unrivalled.

Our Aim,
The aim of JNRacing is to try and appeal to the younger generation and to show them what you can do with a bit of time and not a lot of money. With racing or track days you can have the thrills of driving at high speeds in the safer environment of a circuit. We also want to challenge the factory team to prove (mainly to ourselves) that a fast, high spec racecar can built just as well by a privateer team as it can by the factory team. Oh, and we intend to have a lot of fun in the process.

The Future,
We have now placed the order for Stage 1 & 2. We then plan to self-build our racecar to save costs on labour and of course have the pleasure of building it ourselves. Watch the build online and see how we progress at www.JNRacing.co.uk You can also view Driver Profiles, Latest News, Race Reports, and Tips on how to set up your 5Exi for the Track. We’re now looking forward to racing the 5Exi, and hope that you will follow our progress through the website and at the racetrack.

Wish us luck!
